How I Made $2,000,000 in the Stock Market by Nicholas Darvas somewhat of a link between Reminiscences of a Stock Operator and How To Make Money in Stocks. It is a fascinating story that takes the reader through Darvas’ stock market education and experiences.
I found it particularly interesting that Darvas was not a full time investor. He was a professional dancer who traveled the world and did his investing on the side, sometime on very delayed price data. This is inspiring to part time investors like myself who still struggle with having a day job.
I also was interested that Darvas followed a similar path through different styles of investing. At first he was simply guessing, then he evolved into a fundamental investor, then he started dabbling in technical investing, and eventually he combined the fundamentals with the technicals and coined the term Techno-Fundamentalist.
Much like William O’Neil, Darvas started with a small stake and was able to grow it very fast. The story of him doing that and the details of his investing system make this book a must read for anyone even remotely interesting in the stock market.
