The Icarus Deception as it Relates to Trading
In The Icarus Deception, Seth Godin talks about the idea that we must not be afraid of flying too high. He suggests that we should be more concerned with avoiding flying too low.
For many stock traders, the goal is just to keep pace with the general market, but what kind of life is that? It's never going to get you ahead! The goal should be to dramatically outperform the market. The goal should be to do something great. Of course, this means that we also have to embrace the possibility that we might not be successful.
As the book unfolds, we will have the opportunity to apply concepts like the possibility of failure and creating art to our trading approach.
